Vinted Users Voice Frustration Over Sizing Modifications
Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Response
Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Modifications
Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
A different member, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Necessary Adjustments
Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".
"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained.
Service Background
The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
