Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
